Focus on Mediation Results in High Growth for DigitalRoute
28 May 2010 - 14:13

Stockholm, May 28, 2010

DigitalRoute, an independent software vendor, is positioned among the top Swedish telecom companies on Ahrens’ growth ranking list for 2010.

Ahrens’ growth ranking list highlights companies with continuous growth while maintaining profitability thereby contributing to the vitality of the Swedish business community. In order to qualify, companies must demonstrate stable growth and substantial turnover. The companies must also have their base of the operations located in Sweden and must be independent from individual customers or groups.DigitalRoute’s goal with the user group meetings is to create an interactive environment to exchange experiences, share best practices, and contribute to the future evolution of MediationZone®.

DigitalRoute is placed among the top 20 companies on Ahrens’ growth ranking list and placed number two among the companies in the telecoms market.

There are 68 companies that fulfill the strict qualification requirements in 2010 compared to 90 in the previous year.

The potential growth capacity of the companies is not considered in the evaluation of the candidate companies. The list is based on historical information from 2003-2009. The selection criteria are designed to eliminate subjective assessments.

Since 2006, DigitalRoute has experienced an annual turnover growth of more than 50 percent, which is equivalent of a fivefold revenue increase over four years. Compared to 2002, DigitalRoute’s turnover has increased more than 26 times.

In addition to the prevailing recession, mobile operators are facing the challenge of rapidly increasing costs for handling network data traffic. At the same time, the revenues for the end-customers are declining on saturated markets. These developments have presented opportunities for DigitalRoute’s solutions that drastically reduce the operators’ cost for data integration. DigitalRoute has also found new areas of usage for their technology with customers’ operations; enabling further growth.

“An increasing number of operators are choosing to simplify their architecture for data integration and we can offer better capacity and functionality for a fraction of the hardware costs required for the systems that we are replacing”, said Jan Karlsson, CEO at DigitalRoute.

DigitalRoute has developed the MediationZone® product which is installed at over 180 operators in 90 countries. The list of operators grew by 55 during 2009 alone.

“We are proud to be listed by Ahrens while our competitors’ revenue is declining”, said Jan Karlssson.
