Release 7

MediationZone 7.3 is the latest product release. It makes MediationZone easier to use, optimize its performance by increasing the application’s processing efficiency, gives the system user greater control over both the management of data and how it is subsequently used.  This is achieved via number of functional highlights. 

Highlights include:

  • A new subsystem in which MZ agents can be dynamically managed.
  • New agents to simplyfy and provide increased performance to solutions making use of real-time workflow.
  • A Programmatic approach to creating multi-dimensional KPIs via a new MediationZone technology extension. With this, processing can be configured as distributed or non-distributed and new Spark agent delivers automatic scaling and elasticity.

MediationZone technology was designed from first principles with fewer integration points and flexible data management in mind. DigitalRoute’s founders correctly anticipated that the pace and nature of change in enterprise services would increase over time and thus set out to create a technology that would stress the values of rapid times-to-market, self-sufficiency and low total-cost-of-ownership that are particularly prerequisite IT requirements in modern commercial markets. 

Core MediationZone technology is designed to bridge the components in any type of network architecture and provide comprehensive functionality that lets systems easily communicate with each other. These may be software applications or network elements, installed legacy IT or Cloud-based services. In the process of bridging these systems, raw data is turned into usable information the destinations of which can be any number of network elements and/or systems, often billing or analytics.

In MediationZone data streams are optimized and enriched which means reduced costs for hardware, software licenses and maintenance are possible while at the same time new opportunities to differentiate and personalize services are created.

MediationZone technology offers online and offline data processing within the same product. At the heart lies the workflow, that represents the business logic and is configured in a graphical interface.

Design and changes within MediationZone are achieved through configuration rather than software development. An intuitive and powerful drag-and-drop management user interface covers all aspects of workflow life-cycle management. Once configured, workflows are automatically deployed on designated servers and executed in accordance with defined scheduling criteria. High availability capabilities ensure that workflows are executing at all times.

Processing functions include analysis, filtering, cloning, splitting, routing, normalization, analytics, correlation/aggregation, de-duplication, validation, enrichment, and others. Standard MediationZone “agents” can be configured to support customer-specific business logic without any need for customization of the standard product.

Integration with external systems for data exchange is achieved through plug-ins, which implement the protocols to be used when communicating with other systems. A large number of protocols are supported off-the-shelf, both for interfacing as well as for secure and consistent operation.

Support for additional protocols is added continuously as part of roadmap development, and also on an on-demand basis. A development toolkit is available for adding standard as well as proprietary interfaces. All APIs in the development toolkit have been carefully designed from the outset to minimize programming overhead, and to enable 3rd parties to extend the platform.
