DigitalRoute Extends Billing Mediation with Robi Axiata
New Use Case Integrates Recent Robi-Airtel Merger
DigitalRoute, the leading provider of data integration solutions globally, today announced the expansion of its relationship with Robi Axiata Ltd. (‘Robi’), the leading Telecommunication services provider in Bangladesh. The new deployment will help Robi to integrate a recent merger with Airtel Bangladesh Limited (‘Airtel’).
In 2013, Robi selected DigitalRoute’s MediationZone technology as the foundation of its efforts to modernize not only its BSS but also to provide a best-in-class customer experience, as well as improved handling of functions like roaming and interconnection, Network Management and Fraud Management.
In the wake of Robi-Airtel merger (which was approved by the Bangladesh government in the first week of August), Robi will upgrade and extend its MediationZone implementation to handle and consolidate Billing Mediation from Airtel.
Robi believes that MediationZone technology will deliver both the flexibility and functionality required to ensure that the integration of Airtel is as fast and seamless as possible. DigitalRoute believes that the variety of additional Use Cases MediationZone can address including Usage Management and OSS (Network) Mediation will provide the combined companies a future-proof solution that can be adapted to meet other key challenges.
Commenting on the new deployment, A.K.M. Morshed, Chief technology Officer of Robi said: “We have worked successfully with DigitalRoute for over two years now, benefiting from both the performance of MediationZone and our strong relationship with the company. The product’s inherent flexibility and proven performance will enable us to integrate the Airtel business quickly.” The Airtel deployment is being delivered by DigitalRoute’s in-region services team.
Johan Bergh, CEO, DigitalRoute said: “It is always rewarding to extend the relationship with an existing customer and particularly so in a region - Asia Pacific - in which our presence is growing quickly and our local team expanding. Furthermore, this deployment addresses an increasingly common and vital business need; quickly securing business and revenue streams in the wake of an acquisition. This is an area in which DigitalRoute is well equipped to assist Communications Service Providers as, for many, such consolidation and transformation projects grow in number across the sector.”
DigitalRoute has been providing new approaches to data integration and management since 1999. Its technology offers high throughput and provides a unique degree of user configurability, processing all usage and statistical data extracted from the networks, including both billable and non-billable events. This means customers gain greater cost efficiencies, improved times-to-market for new service offerings, the ability to monetize any data, and the means to enhance end-customer satisfaction. DigitalRoute makes network events available to the right systems in the right formats in the most appropriate volumes at the required times, without losing a single bit. This is the foundation from which multiple, mission-critical use-cases can be addressed in the areas of Billing Mediation, OSS Mediation, Online Control and Enterprise Data Processing.
Over 350 leading companies worldwide use DigitalRoute technology to meet their data management needs, including a number of OEM partners who use our platform as a central part of their own offerings. DigitalRoute is built on the core values of Expertise, Open-Mindedness and Commitment. With close to 200 employees, the company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden with regional offices in Gothenburg, Atlanta and Kuala Lumpur. DigitalRoute is a venture-backed, privately-held company.
