This enhancement enables you to create required database tables for Aggregation, Duplicate UDR, Inter-Workflow, and Data Veracity directly from the Desktop. By eliminating the need for manual SQL execution and service ticket submissions, the process becomes faster and more accessible to users working in SAP-hosted environments.

Previously, creating or modifying tables in some environments required the generated SQL code to be run separately. This could mean submitting it through service tickets for execution, causing delays and extending project lead times. With this feature, you can initiate and complete table creation requests within the GUI, reducing dependency on external tools and support processes. This supports productivity, faster project delivery, and improved usability.

This enhancement adds SQL as a storage option for aggregation in real-time workflows. Previously, SQL storage only existed for batch workflows. In certain environments, the existing persistence storage options; File, Couchbase, and Redis, are not applicable, and the only option has been in-memory, which lacks transaction safety.

With SQL storage, you can persist session data in real-time workflows without relying on disk, Couchbase or Redis. This eliminates the risk of data loss in case of a failure and allows simpler configuration of backups. The feature reuses and extends functionality already developed for batch aggregation, adapting it for real-time workflow scenarios.

This enhancement allows you to view the status of standalone workflows and deactivate them even when the platform server is unavailable. This capability is critical during upgrade scenarios, where Execution Contexts continue running standalone workflows while the platform is intentionally offline.

The feature extends the Operations REST interface to operate independently of the platform. It exposes workflow-level methods to query workflow names, status, and throughput, and to deactivate workflows directly via REST. Delivered as a REST interface rather than a Web UI, this approach supports automation and integration into operational tooling and upgrade procedures, while avoiding the overhead of maintaining a separate UI. Existing properties remain in use to enable or disable the interface. Security follows the current REST interface model, with future improvements considered.

By restoring direct access to workflow monitoring and control without platform dependency, and delivering it through a modern REST interface, this feature ensures reliable operation of standalone workflows during upgrades or platform downtime, with improved support for automated operations.

ECS Inspector in Desktop Online brings the powerful ECS inspection capabilities from the Desktop Client. This feature enables users to inspect, edit, and manage UDRs and batches stored in the ECS, ensuring data integrity and enabling corrective actions without restarting upstream processes. Users can view detailed record content, apply controlled edits where needed, and assign data to Reprocessing Groups, making it eligible for re-processing via ECS collection agents.

The feature also supports user-defined metadata, such as custom error codes or cancellation messages, enhancing traceability and diagnostic clarity. By streamlining error handling and improving visibility into ECS data, the ECS Inspector in Desktop Online helps users maintain high processing accuracy and operational efficiency within complex data mediation environments.

Note: The bulk edit and restricted field features are currently available only in Desktop Client. These features will be made available in Desktop Online in a coming release.

With this feature users can create and configure existing Kafka topics in the Kafka Batch Transaction Handler, complementing the existing default behavior of auto-creating topics. It improves deployment flexibility, particularly in environments with strict data center compliance policies, by allowing more controlled topic management.

Users can now configure topic names directly via system properties, or in the workflow execution settings, where the Kafka profile is selected.

To ensure backward compatibility, default topic names match the current auto-created ones, so existing workflows continue to function without changes. The manual configuration is optional. A validation mechanism checks topic availability at workflow startup, reducing the risk of runtime errors due to misconfiguration or missing topics.

This capability facilitates onboarding for secure, managed environments while preserving the scalability and performance behavior of Kafka-based batch transactions.

With this feature, you can create topics manually for the Scalable InterWorkflow agents, allowing users to define and name their own Kafka topics for forwarding and collection. This is an added functionality to the existing auto-creation behavior.

Manual topic creation follows a guided process where users refer to documented topic requirements and naming conventions, create the topics in Kafka, and configure them in Usage Engine Private Edition via the standard configuration process. The system supports validation of topic configuration, either through a “Try” button or at workflow startup, ensuring the topics are correctly set up before runtime. In Desktop you are also provided with code snippets that you can copy when creating your topics.

The Configuration Diff feature in Desktop Online allows Usage Engine Private Edition users to easily compare configurations and visually identify differences. The intuitive interface enables seamless selection of configurations for comparison, with clear visual indicators highlighting variations in settings, values, and parameters.

Previously available in the Desktop Client, ECS Statistics is now also available in Desktop Online, ensuring the same detailed error analysis and visualization in the web-based environment.

Scalable Batch Workflows build on our robust approach to batch processing by introducing dynamic scaling capabilities that preserve the same transactional guarantees users rely on—processing data exactly once, maintaining order, and avoiding duplicates or missed records.

Traditionally, batch workflows were limited to single-threaded execution, requiring custom, static solutions for scaling. This new feature in Usage Engine Private Edition 4.3 eliminates that complexity by enabling dynamic scaling through a partition profile. For example, users can define that records be partitioned by customer ID, ensuring parallel processing of independent data while maintaining sequential processing where needed.

Backed by Kafka for data persistence, scalable Inter Workflow collectors dynamically distribute, rebalance, and process data, adapting to planned and unplanned processing peaks. The System Statistics feature in Desktop Online enhances system monitoring and management by transitioning key functionalities from the Desktop Client.

Users can intuitively view and analyze system statistics, with capabilities to group and filter data, consolidating relevant historical information for specific Execution Contexts (ECs) and display only currently active picos.

The feature includes automatically updating charts and tables that display critical metrics such as Pico Heap Memory Usage, Pico Process CPU Usage, System Log errors, aborted workflows, unreachable picos, and pico response times. In our continuous commitment to enhancing performance and scalability, we are excited to introduce an update to the Couchbase implementation within the Usage Engine Private Edition. The existing limitation on the number of available buckets (30) has prompted this update, addressing customer needs for increased support, specifically for scopes and collections. Operating through the gRPC protocol over HTTP/2, the Streaming Telemetry agent retrieves crucial router information (OSS data) in real-time, addressing critical needs in network performance monitoring.

The Salesforce Streaming API agent is a processing agent for real-time workflow configurations allowing users to subscribe to Salesforce topics and receive messages. This powerful agent establishes real-time connectivity to Salesforce as a client, adept at listening to changes in specific objects using the Salesforce Streaming API.

The real-time sync capability ensures immediate responsiveness, allowing prompt awareness and action on critical updates, including user creations, updates, or deletions within Salesforce.
